In Rebecca Serle's In Five Years, Dannie Kohan has a vision that she's in bed with a different man from her long-time boyfriend. Five years later, that vision begins to play out right before her and eventually becomes a reality - but not quite, and it all plays out in weird and unexpected ways. Without going into much details, the book speaks on the beautiful bond of friendship, loss, and the concept that not all relationships are meant to be, no matter how inevitable it may appear.
I had a love-hate relationship with this book. I started out loving it and wanting to find out how everything plays out, but midway when I figured something majorly tragic was about to happen, I got disheartened and let the book sit for a long while before I picked it back up. I also thought the ending wasn't too great - not that I was looking for a happy ending, but I didn't expect one as dissatisfactory / underwhelming as this one.
Nevertheless, I certainly can't refute the brilliance of the writing. It was a decent read overall!
