I was privileged to invite Ava James for an interview
with BooKecCenTric to discuss her latest book and the
inspiration behind it. Enjoy!

Thank you @AvaJames for your time today. What’s your book How to Be an Inspirer Who Leads about, and what inspired you to write?
@AvaJames: Leading by example. Every leader has
different styles but key skills are required to make a good leader. My dad and
my own journey of learning to lead have inspired me.
Who is your target audience and why do you think this book
will appeal to them?
@AvaJames: Leaders, aspiring leaders. Inspire
those you lead. Lead with your own example and ability to motivate others.
What message do you wish to pass across to your readers
with this book?
@AvaJames: Get inspired. If you always wanted to
be better, then do something that will scare you that make you a person who
inspires others.
What was the hardest thing about writing your latest
book?
@AvaJames: Hoping my dad would like it. I find
taking the hard parts and working on those first makes it easier.
As a writer is there anything you've learned about
yourself while writing this book?
@AvaJames: A lot. That I can learn so much about how
to lead with integrity and respect starting with what I do
For your own reading do you prefer eBooks or traditional
paper/hard back books and why?
@AvaJames: I prefer both. Sometimes eBooks are
easy to navigate. Paperbacks offer the option to highlight and return to it.
What is your niche genre and if you were to write in a
different genre what would it be?
@AvaJames: Inspirational self-help Christian
inspiration; Fiction
What books and authors have most influenced you?
@AvaJames: Many, but a few key authors stand out. Nelson
Mandela; Billy Graham; Ant Middleton; Stephen Covey; Amy Carmichael; Corrie Ten
Boom. The list of books is endless - You Are a Badass: How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and
Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero; 100 Days to Brave:
Devotions for Unlocking Your Most Courageous Self by Annie F. Downs
Is there anything you’d like readers to know about you?
@AvaJames: I am positive and always try to view
the best side to any situation and I push myself because I am the only person
who knows where I want to go.
Do you have any more books in the works?
@AvaJames: Yes, working on one I hope to publish
in September 2019. And one for the beginning of 2020.
Do you read your book reviews how do you deal with bad or
good ones?
@AvaJames: I do. Not sure any are bad.
